Adapters for B21/23 Engines
For the Volvo enthusiast that
plans to convert the fuel system on their B21 or B23 powered car to electronic
control utilizing a system such as Megasquirt, Avalanche has developed an
adapter that enables one to mount an EDIS trigger wheel on the front pulley.
As with our wheel spacers, these adapters are CNC milled from 6061-T6 aluminum
alloy. They too are available anodized or bare.

Underdrive Pulleys with EDIS Adapters
for B20 engines
More from necessity than
demand, we have developed an underdrive front pulley with an EDIS adapter ring
machined into the front. We built this unit for the '67 122s project car as we
are running a Megasquirt system to control fuel and spark. Obviously has the
performance gains realized by utilizing an underdrive pulley but also gives
one the option of running programmable spark control. Machined from billet
6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Can be anodized or bare aluminum.

B230 Underdrive Front Pulleys With EDIS
Adapters
In conjunction with developing
the B21/23 EDIS adapter, Avalanche has developed an underdrive front pulley
that also doubles as an EDIS adapter for B230 engines. While many buy this
item to adapt an EDIS trigger wheel to enable programmable, electronic control
over ignition, others are buying it simply because it is an underdrive pulley
and they recognize the advantages of running an underdrive pulley even if they
have no plans to modify the ignition system. This pulley is also milled from
6061-T6 aluminum and comes anodized. Because it works as a pulley, the
anodizing serves as a protective layer from the abrasiveness of the belts and
ensure longer life expectancy.

Short-Throw Shifters for M46/47
Transmissions
We modify stock shifters to
mechanically shorten the throw. Typically the throw can be shortened from
approximately 6" to approximately 4". Actual results may vary depending on the
condition of the various bushings related to your shifter. New bushings are
still available through the dealer and are relatively inexpensive. If you are
replacing your stock shifter with our unit, it is strongly recommended that
you replace your shifter bushings as well. Because this is a short throw
shifter, nothing above the pivot ball is modified, meaning the reverse lockout
still works and the standard shifter knob remains.

Adjustable Camshaft Gears
We have developed a process
where we take a stock camshaft gear and drill additional holes to offer the
user a variety of settings. The standard adjustable gear is available in a 6
degrees advance to 6 degrees retard range in 2 degree increments. For users
wanting more advance, a gear that offers as much as 12 degrees advance can be
custom made. We are also able to drill 16v round tooth camshaft gears,
although our supply for those is limited.

A-cams and K-cams
We try to keep a small supply
of factory K-grind and A-grind camshafts in the shop for resale. The
A-cam is a wonderful upgrade for cars equipped with an M or a T grind cam.
It has a nice broad powerband that works very well in both turbo and naturally
aspirated 8v Volvos. The K-cam is much bigger and better suited to
people who want a higher and stronger powerband. Typically they begin to
make power above 3,000rpm and hold it very strong until the factory 6k rev
limiter, or even higher if you choose to go there. An adjustable cam
gear clocked at 4* or 6* advanced brings the powerband down to a more
streetable level.
