120 Series Wilwood Adapter Kits

We have 2 different kits available for 120 series cars. At this point we are calling them our Stage 2 and Stage 3 kits. Stage 1 involves a specific Wilwood caliper bolting up in the stock location and uses the stock rotor. We will know more about what the caliper is when we have time to do a little research on this setup. We have only seen pictures at this point.

Stage 2

Our Stage 2 kit is designed around using as many off-the-shelf items as possible. With the Stage 2 kit we provide the caliper adapter brackets only. The rest (rotor hats, rotors and calipers) is available through a Wilwood dealer. This kit uses Wilwood Forged Billet Superlite calipers with 11.75”X.81” rotors. Please bear in mind this system was designed to work in conjunction with a 240 series disc brake rear end and the recommended caliper piston sizes reflect that. Upgrading the front brakes without upgrading the rears could upset the brake balance of the car by providing far too much front brake. It is possible to reduce the piston size to reduce front brake bias. This setup will not work under the stock 15” wheels. It will fit under 17" wheels and should fit under most 16” wheels as well. Please bear in mind this kit will only work with the stock wheel bolt configuration as the Wilwood rotor hats are available in 5X114.3mm. If you have upgraded your front hubs with later 1800 pieces, this kit will not work as the rotor hats are not available in a 5X108mm bolt circle.

Stage 3

Our Stage 3 kit is similar to our Stage 2 kit with regards to calipers and rotor diameter. However, the rotors are 1.25” thick instead of .81” to provide a little more thermal mass for better heat dissipation for extreme use. This kit was also designed for use with either updated 1800 front hubs with the 5X108mm bolt circle or the stock 5X114.3mm bolt circle. This kit was developed before the Stage 2 kit so there were no existing components to locate any one of the other components (rotor hat, for example, to locate the rotor, therefore dictating caliper position). Because of this, components in this kit do not interchange with our Stage 2 kit. We are working toward a solution where some components can be shared.
